When my cousin told us that her wedding would be held in Eagles Mere, PA during June 2024 and that she wanted us to go crazy with our outfits – I was immediately inspired. I looked to Emma (2020) as well as my cousin's theme for the wedding (70s spring disco meadow) for initial inspiration. The yoke is naturally dyed (logwood and iron) silk organza with up-cycled appliqué from a thrifted dress and the bias tape is left over naturally dyed silk charmeuse from “Alice and Annette.” The corset is up-cycled poly brocade from a thrifted Urban Outfitters dress, leftover duchess silk from “Three Sisters” as bias tape, the lining is also leftover canvas from a previous project (restoring kayak seats). The skirt is a fully lined circle skirt that’s gathered at the waist with side seam pockets, and all fabrics are from old tablecloths, curtains, and leftover hand-dyed yardage from “Lily Pond” with pink metallic thread topstitching.
