Alice and Annette

F/W 23

This collection, Alice and Annette, reflects on my relationship to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. My aunt and namesake, Annette, who died young, read the book often to my mother when she was a child. Reflecting on love and grief for Annette through the whimsy of Alice in Wonderland by subtly playing with distortion, comfort, and constriction, I used natural dye-work, embroidery, quilting, knitwear, and corsetry to show these various relationships.
