Tarot in Nature is a concept based on my reflections of my personal relationship to tarot and where I spent most of the summer in vague isolation due to COVID-19. On the side of tarot I took inspiration from the first deck I received which is the Prisma Visions (5th Edition) deck by James R. Eads. – which holds many rich jewel tones and is extremely organic in its use of lines/line art. I spent most of my summer in an old house in a small town in the mountains of Pennsylvania that my family has been going to for every summer since I can remember. Since our stay was extended this year it allowed me time to take in our luxurious house and environment. There’s natural wood everywhere in the house, rich textiles, old glass windows, I won’t even begin to express the beauty of the natural environment surrounding the town. These two sides – tarot and nature – are so closely related as experiencing them both is extremely spiritual for me in very similar ways.
